While visiting New York City, AccraPremium had the honour of joining leading African Media Group Face2Face Africa for their 6th annual Pan African. Face2Face is one of the top contemporary African media groups showcasing Pan African and “Afropolitan” lifestyle around the world. Impressively, Pan African Weekend NYC has brought together artists, entrepreneurs, humanitarians, and more, from all over the continent, and diaspora, for six years to celebrate and showcase our many talents. This year held an dynamic line up of events, Honourees, and Guests.
The event filled weekend began with a “Pan-African Women Forum: #ChangingOurStory”, featuring Ghana’s own Actress Ama K. Abebrese, Fashion Designer Abrima Erwiah, and Airtel Ghana’s Managing Director Lucy Quist, as well as, Mimi Plange, Chiney Ogwumike, Wendy Osefo, Mushiya Tshikuka, Fumbi Chima, Dana Reed, Uchente Emuleomo, and Cheryl Wills. The forum held two all women panels focusing on Fashion & Entertainment and Business & Technology. While the forum were all women the attendees included both men and women, engaging in dialogue and strategy to “change the story” of both Africa and specifically women in Africa. Following the Pan-African Women Forum, IAAPA hosted a Networking Mixer, again bringing together Pan African professionals from all fields.
The pinnacle event of the weekend were the F.A.C.E. List Awards, honouring Humanitarians, Activists, Entrepreneurs, Art, and Business. Hosted by Ama K Aberese, the black tie gala boasted a beautiful audience and ambience with food and drink throughout the night. Sponsor Toyota and created a fun and interactive photo booth for guests to capture their time at the gala. Guests that were awarded that night were Social Avocate Rev. Al Sharpton, NBA Player and Humanitarian Serge Ibaka, Leading Music Influencer Tuma Basa, Entrepreneur Adendah Bayoh , and Businesswoman Mimi Alemayehou. Guests were treated to live performances by Grammy award winning musician Wyclef Jean and Samira Gibson.
Pan African Weekend is a wonderful opportunity and experience for all those that attend. We encourage our followers to visit Face2FaceAfrica.com and follow them on all social media platforms @Face2FaceAfrica to stay updated on all of the amazing activities happening.
