If you are lucky enough to find yourself in Ghana's Oil City, Takoradi, for good food and a truly international sports bar experience, pop into the Champs Bar and Restaurant located on the grounds of the Stellar Lodge and Apartments.
Arriving there on a Friday night, I was pleasantly surprised at the vibrant and fun atmosphere inside and out of the Bar. Inside there was the typical bustling bar scene with supersized HD plasma screens all around, pool tables and patrons galore. Outside there was a lovely garden area designed as a convenient area for smokers or those wanting to quietly socialize outdoors.
By a quick survey of a few patrons, their most popular offerings are the Chicken Wings (you can get them Suicide Hot, Medium or Mild) and the Pizza. I was very happy that I did not skip breakfast the next morning because it was simply delicious, with everything prepared exactly the way I like. If I had known in advance it would taste as good as it did, I would have taken a picture to share with you! Next time, I promise!
They also have a charming new restaurant equipped with projector screens for convenient use as a meeting or conference space.
Missing their breakfast today! - Melissa
