Stellar Lodge & Apartments in Takoradi is very well situated to accommodate families and international business travelers who demand cleanliness, modern fixtures and appliances and reliable internet. An extra plus for this location is having the Champs Bar & Restaurant on the premises as well as a Stellar Foods shop, where one can find top quality imported food products.
Having undergone a recent overhaul, you can see at every juncture that their guest's safety is top priority. Staff all seemed very well trained, professional and responsive to guest’s needs.
Bathrooms are all modern, with a nice hot shower and generously stocked with good smelling shower gels. Nice large plasma TVs and a comfy king sized bed. I had a pleasant surprise to find that my room remained cool long after AC switched off. An extra treat in West Africa!
Apartments are comfortably furnished, with a terrace overlooking the pool. The gym was clean and well polished, with state of the art equipment and almost every type of weight and device you can imagine. This place is an excellent choice for a home away from home while working in or visiting Takoradi.
I'll be back! - Melissa
For the past 7 years, on the last Sunday of September, the Accra International Marathon has been held. This popular event is aimed at promoting active healthy lifestyles and fitness and to increase life expectancy among Ghanaians. This year's event will take place 29 September 2013.
They attract a truly international group of runners, many who have visited Africa for the first time. In doing so, this event also puts Ghana on the world map as a desirable tourism destination for health enthusiasts.
This year will include a special group of marathoners traveling all the way from California with Judge Craig Mitchell who has introduced marathon running to them as a way to improve the quality of their lives (read more).
The event features a Full Marathon, Half Marathon, 10K, 5K and Team Relay Races. The finish line leads the runners to the back lawn of the lovely Labadi Beach Hotel where there are vendors, food and entertainment. It is really a great way to spend the day.
The Accra International Marathon is also a fundraising vehicle for the The Longevity Project.
Happy Running - Melissa
